Deep Pocket Sheets – The Right Tool for the Job

Deep Pocket Sheets – The Right Tool for the Job

It is surprising and how little but most people put into their bedding.  When you consider the fact that we spend up to a third of our lives in bed, it would seem that we would put a little more effort into making it a comfortable and inviting place to be.  After all, a good night’s sleep has a profound effect on an individual’s performance during the day.  Restlessness, or tossing and turning, can lead a person to feeling groggy or irritable throughout their waking hours.  Not only is the choice of mattress important, but the sheets that a person chooses to sleep on should also be purchased with comfort and performance in mine.

It is easy to spend hundreds and even thousands of dollars on a top of the line, plush, pillow top mattress.  Unfortunately, the effectiveness and rejuvenation that these mattresses provide can be lessened somewhat if an ill fitting or improperly sized sheets at is forced onto them.  Pillow top mattresses are thicker than conventional mattresses and require deep pocket sheets.  The sheets are designed specifically with thicker mattresses in mind.  Even if the mattress is not a thicker style by design, but has an extra mattress pad on top of it, these types of sheets will fit better, last longer and provide a more comfortable place to sleep.

As a society, we spend the majority of our time on our feet or in bed.  Because of this shoes and bedding are two things that should never be skimped on.  While the upfront cost may seem excessive, the comfort and longevity that higher quality materials provide makes them well worth the initial investment.  This is true not only of mattresses, but applies to sheets as well.  Sheets that are made of quality materials and that have a high thread count will be softer and more comfortable to lay on and will outlast cheaper varieties by a great deal.

Trying to stretch a regular size sheet set over a thick mattress or a mattress that has an extra pad will not only reduce some of the cushioning because the sheet set will compress the mattress, but will also reduce the lifespan of the sheets.  As with most things in life, it is necessary to have the right tool for the job and when it comes to thick mattress sets, deep pocket sheets are an absolute necessity.  When it comes to something as important as your nightly rest, you deserve top quality.

Sleep Well,

Rose
