Queen Sofa Bed Sheets – Making Your Guests Feel At Home

Queen Sofa Bed Sheets – Making Your Guests Feel At Home

Entertaining guests in your home overnight can be really fun.  If you live far away from family, it can be a necessity when they come to visit.  If you don’t have a guest room or have lots and lots of family and friends, you may need to purchase dual duty furniture, like a sofa bed.  Pull out couches, or sofa beds come in many sizes.  Queen sofa beds are a very comfortable size when you will have couples coming over to stay.  The thin depth of a sofa bed mattress usually measure six inches or less.  It’s a good idea to add a cotton mattress pad under your queen sofa bed sheets to increase the comfort of the mattress.

Putting normal queen sheets on a queen sized pull out couch is possible, but you might find it very frustrating.  Because the mattress is so thin, the sheet can bunch up or pop off.  Also, a traditional flat sheet will hang down, sometimes getting caught up in the mechanism.  Queen sofa bed sheets are designed to solve these problems.  They are usually a six inch depth so they fit snugly.  The top flat sheet is sewn to the fitted sheet at the foot of the bed and partially up the sides.  This makes the sheets easier to put on the bed, eliminates bunching, makes them not pop off, and keeps the sheets from getting caught in the sleeper sofa mechanism.

You can get comfortable sheets economically with a 50% cotton, 50% polyester blend that has at least a 200 thread count.  Thread count shows how many threads are in each square inch of fabric.  Below 200, the comfort declines very quickly, making sheets feel rougher instead of silky and smooth.  Higher quality materials, such as 100% Egyptian cotton, Pima cotton, silk, Portuguese double brushed flannel, and bamboo fibers, can provide luxury and fabulous visiting experience for your guests.

There are queen sofa bed sheets in all different colors to match your décor or improve moods.  Different colors are proven to bring on different feelings.  White and pastels feel crisp and refreshing.  Cool colors, like blue, green, and purple, relax you and help you feel sleepy.  Warm colors, such as red, orange, and yellow, invigorate and excite, making your guests want to get up and go.  You also might want to consider if you normally have feminine or masculine, as some colors are associated with one or the other.

Sleep Well,

Rose
