Sofa Bed Sheets – Less Frustrating with a Better Fit

Sofa Bed Sheets – Less Frustrating with a Better Fit
Sofa beds can be fantastic options for guests when you have limited space.  However, the mattresses are often thinner than traditional mattresses, which can make them difficult to fit with sheets and less comfortable than a traditional mattress.  Help your guests get a good night’s sleep with a sofa bed mattress pad, topped off with luxurious sofa bed sheets.  These are sheets made specifically to fit your sofa bed.  The flat sheet is often sewn to the fitted one to prevent the sheets from bunching or slipping off the mattress.  To begin your shopping process, you need to know what size your sofa bed mattress is.  So, start by measuring the width, length, and depth of your mattress.
Sofa bed mattress pads and sheets take into account the thinner aspect (about six inches) of a sofa bed mattress for a snug fit and less frustration.  Twin sofa bed sheets have a width of 36” and a length of 72”.  The full sofa bed mattress requires sheets that measure 54” x 72”.   A width of 60” and a length of 74” make up a queen sofa bed, while a queen XL (or extra long) measures 60” x 80”.  Bed Linens Etc., will even create custom mattress pads and sheets for sofa beds that do fall into these categories.
The luxury of your sofa bed sheets usually comes from what type of fabric they are made from and the thread count.  The thread count tells how many threads are included in a square inch of the fabric.  Generally speaking, the higher the thread count, the softer and silkier the sheets.  Cotton is a common fabric for sheets, but quality will vary with the percentage of cotton used and the type. For instance, 100% Egyptian cotton is very luxurious.  For colder climates, flannel might be a great way to keep your guests warm and cozy.  Portuguese, double brushed flannel is the height of soft, smooth warmth.  There are even sheets made for sofa beds out of environmentally friendly bamboo.  Bamboo fibers create a silky soft fabric that is naturally hypoallergenic and antibacterial.  It is also thermal regulating, making it cooler in summer even than cotton.
You can get your sofa bed sheets in tons of great colors too so you can match any decor.   Colors can also affect how your guests feel.  Cool colors, like green, blue, and purple, help to relax and calm, giving you a sense of peace and tranquility.  Warm colors, such as red, yellow, and orange, tend to excite and awaken you.

Sleep Well,

Rose
